Our First ever meeting was held on 20 November 2001 at the Amber Hotel, Oakerthorpe, near Alfreton in Derbyshire, where sixteen people formed the club. All had one thing in common - tractors!
With a steady increase in members, the room at the Amber Hotel became too small for us so after two years, we moved to our present location, the South Wingfield Social Club, just a few miles up the road.
The club now has a large number of members with stationary engines and other exhibits, including a large Case steam traction engine!
The club meets at the Social Club on the third Thursday of each month for a social evening with talks and demonstrations, and in December, we hold our famous 'Christmas Do' with entertainment and the best buffet for miles around!
The club attends local rallies and carnivals and organises several tractor runs each year. We hold our own rallies twice a year on the grounds of the Social Club, at Easter and in September.
In November we hold a 'pre Christmas' Mini Light Up at the Social Club. The Club also has it's very own 'Santa Claus' who can be seen visiting the village of South Wingfield raising funds for the village school in the run up to Christmas.
Club funds are raised from donations, adverts in our club magazine, which is published every three months, and with the help of our Tombola stall, which travels to all the local rallies and events.
